Quinn Fiduciary Services
The team at Quinn Fiduciary Services acts in a position of trust and confidence for our clients by serving in one or more of the following roles.
Trustee
As fiduciaries, we conservatively and wisely manage the financial resources of our clients in order to protect and maintain their best quality of life. We strive to know, understand, and follow the intentions of the trustor(s) to assure their wishes are honored. As Trustee, we:
- · Safeguard assets
- · Administer the trust
- · File tax returns – both individual and estate as necessary
- · Report to beneficiaries
- · Submit accountings as required or requested
Financial Power of Attorney
Often, in conjunction with naming us as successor Trustees, clients will also name us as Financial Power of Attorney. Having this document in hand allows us to step in, at our client’s request, and take over paying bills, managing financial assets, gathering documentation for annual income tax filing, and managing financial health. Working with the advisors that the client already has in place – CPAs, financial managers, etc. – we safeguard our clients’ affairs by providing another level of review and diligence.
Estate Administrator
When named as executor or special administrator, we carry out the terms of the will as written. As such, we:
- · Marshall and Inventory all of the estate assets
- · File necessary tax returns
- · Make estate distributions to the beneficiaries
Healthcare Power of Attorney
Serving as a healthcare power of attorney often involves intimate decisions. While we recognize that a trusted family member or friend is often the best choice, we do serve in this role as needed. As in all of our roles, we do what our clients would do if they were able to. Additionally, if your primary healthcare agents are not local, we are happy to be added as second or third so that we can go to the hospital with the document in hand should that be necessary.
Conservators
Although not as common, we do serve as Conservators. Whether we are requested by a family member or appointed by the court system, we exercise the most humane and respectful approach possible. As Conservators of the Person and/or Estate, we:
- · Locate and safeguard assets
- · Oversee medical and personal care
- · Advocate on behalf of clients
- · Submit court accountings as required
Trustees of Special Needs Trusts (SNTs)
QFS fiduciaries carry out the terms of the Special Needs Trust and are careful to administer it according to the legislation covering the trust. As Trustee of an SNT, we perform the duties as defined above as well as:
- · Distribute payments to beneficiaries
- · Work to preserve public benefits for beneficiaries
Daily Money Manager
Included on our team at QFS is a Daily Money Manager. His expertise allows us to provide daily money management services to our clients as needed, including:
- · Bill payment
- · Bank reconciliation
- · Medical insurance claims
- · On-going review of charges flagging those that may indicate an attempt at fraud
